How do I apply to be on a board?

First, register by creating an account. Once you're in, build your profile and explore available boards and commissions. Apply online to any position that interests you.

What is the approval process and how long does it take?

Generally, candidates are vetted by the Office of the Governor, with some positions requiring Senate confirmation. This process can include  This process can take anywhere from several weeks to a few months.

What is the time commitment?

Time commitments vary by board. For example, the Accountancy Examining Board meets about four times a year, while the State Board of Regents meets 12–13 times annually. Specific schedules and meeting durations vary per board.

Do I need to apply or can I just call and talk to someone?

To be considered for a board or commission, you must complete the online application via IAppoint —phone calls can't replace the application process. That said, if you have general inquiries or need help, you can contact us through the email listed on their "Contact Us" page.
